Reconfigure Your Work space to Revitalize Your Work

Let's face it, we are creatures of habit. We often go to the same job 5 days a week for 20 or more years, live in the same house for half of our lives (or more), we drive the same cars, talk to the same people, drink the same coffee: two and two with a shot of vanilla. Our lives are filled with so much sameness that they become boring, especially at work. Boring lives lead to lazy lives; and bored, lazy employees become unmotivated employees who then become job seekers looking for exciting new opportunities. It doesn't have to be this way!

One of the easiest ways to fix all this sameness; this cultivation of a boring atmosphere, is through small, simple changes. In the office we can achieve this in three main ways:

1. Move to a New Office

2. Order New Office Furniture

3. Reconfigure Your Current Office

Let's take a deeper look at these three options.

Moving to a New Office:

Moving to a new office, the ultimate change. ! This option has the ability change things up a bit at the office, but it is without a doubt the most expensive and time consuming. It can also be too much change at once. Moving to a new office, in my opinion, is best in three situations:

• Expansion

• Downsizing

• Rent Savings

Ordering New Office Furniture:

Ordering new office furniture is an important step in keeping employee morale high. No one wants to come to work every day and sit at a desk that is older than they are or in a chair that is falling apart, or in a cubicle that has a distinct pungent odor coming from it. In these instances, ordering new office furniture makes complete sense. The different options available when looking for new office furniture are nearly endless; for example, there is: Knoll, Allsteel, DIRTT and so many more. However, if the furniture in your office is still relevant, clean and functioning properly, then there may be a cost and time effective alternative.

Reconfigure Your Current Office Furniture

So, your office needs an update, a refreshing change, but you don't need new furniture, nor do you want or need to move to a new office? This is when an office reconfiguration is the solution. By reconfiguring your office, you change up the work space without breaking the bank. Most office reconfigurations require only the existing furniture; however, sometimes you will need to order a few extra pieces to make it fit your idea. The options are nearly endless when it comes to how your office can be rearranged. This is one of the reasons why I prefer office reconfigurations over purchasing all new furniture. Not only is it more cost effective, it is generally quicker to do, and you still have plenty of options for designing your new office layout. For this option you'll need an office furniture installation company, like Premier Office Installations, Inc., an electrician and a voice and data cable installation company to get your new office layout looking and running how you want.
